Foundation Sponges

Let’s talk SPONGES
Hello, hello
Today I want to talk about SPONGES. I know that there are so many sponges reviews, videos and blogs, so i want to put in my share of redundancy. LOL
Anyway, my sponge collection includes: Beauty Blender, ModelsOwn makeup blending sponges, Real Technique Miracle Sponge, 3 different types of Ebay Sponge, generic wedge sponge, Innisfree BB roller, and a foundation vibrator hahahah
From Left to Right: An Ebay BB dupe_1, Beauty Blender and Real Techniques Sponge

From Left to Right: An Ebay BB dupe_2, ModelOwns Sponge, Ebay BB Dupe_3
From Top to Bottom: Wet/ Dry Sponge

1.       Beauty Blender: If you don’t have one and you love wearing liquid/cream foundation, GET ONE, it’s worth it. Use it wet use it dry, it’s up to you J
This is the website you should get it from as more than twice a year this store goes 40% off storewide, and they ship worldwide.

2.       Ebay BB dupes: to be honest they are not bad, one doesn’t expand as much as you would want it to but all these sponges are very decent for foundation application, it takes slightly longer to apply but results are comparable. They are soft and squishy and I actually love them for powder application(Use them dry)
3.       ModelOwns Sponge: DON’T EVER BUY IT, it’s so hard, doesn’t expand with water, just incredibly annoying to use...I haven’t tried this with dry products but honestly I don’t want to.
4.       Real techniques Sponge: Absolute treasure. This is so much cheaper than the beauty blender, works exactly the same. I love using this one dry rather than wet as the sponge is not too flimsy and application is easier. Works amazingly with liquid/cream/powder products when used dry.
Buy it from IHERB

5.       BB Roller, BB Vibrator: these work quite ok in smoothing out foundation but they tend to take up fair a bit of products, and no ease of use because they take forever. The BB roller is not too bad but it won’t be used for awhile for me.
6.       Generic wedge sponge: get them. They are useful for many things including nail art.
So HOW DO I WASH THESE SPONGE
If you have access to DAISO (Japanese Hot Dollar Shop), get the puff and sponge detergent. If not use your cheapest facial cleanser you have. You will need a snubby silicone oven mitt from a hot dollar shop (an 8 times cheaper brush cleaning glove from Sigma). Wet the sponge lightly, put the detergent on, and work it back and forth on the oven mitt. I tend to wash my sponge everyday to keep it clean.
